We’re still wrapping our heads around the amazing blood moon we saw here on the east coast Sunday night. Clear skies and a lunar eclipse are enough of a rare occurrence to warrant staying up after 10PM on a school night. But a Supermoon that just happens to be a Harvest Moon? All we can we say is – wow!
It will be a while before we see something like that again. The last time it happened was 1982 (when Sarah sported her big hair and Jan wore those huge shoulder pads!). It won’t recur until 2033. But we can still look skyward for inspiration this fall. Keep your eye out on November 17th and 18th for the Leonid meteor showers. After midnight if the skies are clear you can expect to see 20 shooting stars an hour.
Inspired by the lunar eclipse we’re sharing (sneak peek!) Konenkii’s Fall Box Harvest Moontini recipe. No need to make this cocktail a rare occurrence!
2 ounces vodka1 ounce
Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
2 ounces pomegranate juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Fill a shaker three-fourths full with ice. Add ingredients, cover and shake. Strain cocktail into a chilled martini glass.
